FAQ:
- Works on Windows 95, 98, 2000 and some versions of NT
- Downloads in less than 5 minutes on most systems
- Self-extracting, WINZAP installs itself automatically
- Choose any password you wish from 6 to 20 characters long
- The WINZAP user interface is extremely easy to use
- Simply choose a file, type your password and click "Process"
- A file is encrypted when it ends with a "!"
- For example "file.txt" is changed to "FILE.tx!"
- And "image.jpg" is changed to "IMAGE.jp!"
- Note that it also changes file names to UPPERCASE
- When unencrypted it changes back to "FILE.txt"
- And unencrypted it changes back to "IMAGE.jpg"
- Pictures do not lose resolution after Winzap encryption
- Files cannot be retrieved if you forget your password
- A good password is not found in the dictionary or in birthdates
- Deleted images and files remain on your hard drive regardless
- Encrypt sensitive files and images before deleting them
- Winzap is 100% effective and cannot be deciphered
- Strong encryption like Winzap may not be sold outside the U.S.
- Winzap costs a little more because it is strong encryption
